Tips to stay motivated for workout
Tips to stay motivated for workout :Let me start with a question this time. Have you ever started a fitness program and quit? If you answered yes, you’re not alone. Many people start fitness programs but they may stop when they get bored, they don’t enjoy it or results come too slowly. I always choose to write on those problems which I’ve gone through so that I could genuinely connect to the problem and readers. Here are several tips to stay motivated for your workout.

- CHALLENGE YOUR LIMITS
If you are a beginner, then take small goals like starting with 10 mins of grass walking or one round of jogging etc and then gradually increase your limits. Also try to challenge your limits. What I mean by saying that is if you walk for 10 mins today, make a goal to walk 15 mins tomorrow and push yourself hard to complete the challenge. If you run for one round today, then make sure you run for one and a half rounds tomorrow. By adopting this you will get two benefits – (a) you will improve your stamina (b) your body metabolism will increase
Talking about me, I started by doing 20 mins of grass walking and surprisingly, now I walk for an hour and a half continuously. It took me 2 months for this big change
- MAKE IT FUN
Do you get bored of those high intensity workouts and make your workout routine a fun? If you answered yes, then you are not the correct page. Make your workout fun. It will help you stay motivated throughout your fitness journey. Include dance workouts, zumba sessions, aerobic exercises or some outdoor sports like badminton, cricket, football, basketball etc. once or twice in a week. If you don’t want to workout alone, then you can involve your friends/neighbours also. Including them will provide you a competitive environment which will force you to workout more than you do regularly. They will turn your workout into a fun class.
I personally include zumba/dance for one day and badminton/tennis for one day in my workout routine. It gives me a boost up to workout again the another day.
- MAKE YOUR WORKOUT PLAN
Rather than randomly doing any exercise, you should better make a workout plan. Give stress to a particular part of your body for one day and another part of your body for another day. Planning your workout will also set a goal for you as you will know the number of exercises you have to complete. The most important thing while planning your workout is to plan a resting day for your body to recover and relieve the stress of all the six days. Your body has worked for six tiring days and have all the rights to take rest for a day. Planning a workout isn’t easy. So I’ve come up with two plans which will help you plan your workout.
- YOGA WORKOUT PLAN
Monday – pure yoga
Tuesday – power cardio yoga
Wednesday – strength training yoga
Thursday – power pilates yoga
Friday – HIIT yoga
Saturday – pure yoga/zumba/dance/aerobics/any outdoor sports
Sunday – resting day
- GYM WORKOUT PLAN
Monday – stretching
Tuesday – back and biceps workout
Wednesday – core body workout
Thursday – legs workout
Friday – chest, shoulder and triceps workout
Saturday – aerobic/HIIT/Bollywood workout
Sunday – resting day
Choose any one of these plans and start your fitness journey now.
- DO NOT SKIP WORKOUTS
When we enrol ourselves in a new gym or in a fitness class, we all pledge to religiously follow our schedule no matter what. But how many of us are actually able to live up to the promise we made? Not many I guess. If you don’t want to lose your fitness motivation, you need to keep up with your healthy routine and not skip your workout.
- REWARD YOURSELF
Whenever you complete your goal, reward yourself with some gifts which will encourage you to complete your goal with more enthusiasm the next day. Rewards need not to be expensive gifts. They can be your favourite icecream/any other food item once or twice a week, workout clothes, a pair of shoes.
For me, I made a rule that until and unless I won’t complete my workout routine, I won’t watch my favourite TV show. It worked very well for me because watching TV is my favourite time pass.
So, that’s it on this topic. I hope all these tips really help you out to stay motivated to work out every morning. Just implement these simple five steps in your life and you will notice that your workout has become so easy and fun.
